This year the British Embassy supported the 3rd edition of the "PPP - Best Practice Competition". The competition was organised by Investment Support, which specialises in supporting public-private partnership projects.

A ceremony to announce the results of the competition took place on 25 June at the PAIiIZ premises. This year the competition attracted 22 projects in three different categories: "Municipal Infrastructure", "Sport and Recreation Infrastructure" and "Small PPP".

The winning projects were: the regeneration of the railway station in Sopot, the development of a sport and recreation centre in Krakow and a multi-level car-park in Płock.

Minister Adam Szejnfeld, Secretary of State in the Economy Ministry opened the ceremony. Mr Szejnfeld stressed that the current regulations on PPP, which were introduced in February 2009, are now clear, transparent, effective and eliminate possible barriers, which caused many difficulties with the implementation of PPP projects in the past.

The main prize in the competition was a study visit to France, plus promotion of the winning projects at the International Investment Forum which will be organised by Investment Support in October.

Investment Support and the British Embassy worked together on publishing a brochure on "PPP - Best Practice - a summary of three years of competition for the best public-private projects".
