Who is eligible

Under a new scheme UK passport holders born on or before 2 September 1929 are eligible for free passports for the rest of their lives, in honour of their service to the nation in the Second World War.

People who reach the age of 75 after 2 September 2004 will not be eligible.

The scheme applies to all categories of British passport holder. It does not apply to emergency passports or temporary passports.

What to submit

Along with the completed form you would need to provide us with your previous passport, your full-length birth certificate (if born in the UK) or any Home Office documents and/or any marriage certificates, all in their original forms.

All applications have to be made on an original IPS (UKPS) Application Form.

Printed copies are available at British Embassy in Warsaw and will be forwarded by Consular Section Warsaw to the IPS (UKPS) for processing. Average waiting time is 2 months.

Two identical passport photographs should also be provided, one of which is to be counter signed. The counter signer must fully complete section 10, ensuring the signature remains within the designated box and that it is dated (which also applies to your own signature in section 9).
