Tactical Fund

The Tactical Fund is available from the British Embassy to support smaller scale targeted projects and activities promoting low carbon economy. Projects appropriate for Tactical Fund funding include one-off events, workshops, study tours by a group of experts, participation in international conferences by key decision-makers, developing targeted and evidence-based reports, which explore at least one of the following UK government priority themes:

  • Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS),
  • Economic impacts of climate change,
  • Encouraging business to play active role in developing low carbon economy.

Innovative ideas, including joint initiatives by several partners or projects conducted at a regional level are most welcome.  All projects proposals must offer value for money and typically, a Tactical Fund project costs no more than £5,000.

How to apply

1. You may submit your project idea any time throughout the year by completing the Tactical Fund Project Bidding form and sending it to agnieszka.tomaszewska@fco.gov.uk, the Embassy Climate Change and Energy Projects Co-ordinator.

2. The Climate Change and Energy Projects Co-ordinator will then come back to you with feedback on your project bid and information on whether or not your bid has been recommended for funding by the Embassy Climate Change and Energy Projects Committee.

3. If successful, the Embassy will sign a contract with you. Project funds will be transferred to you once project activities have been completed (pre-payments are not possible). Within 3 months of project completion, you will be asked to fill in a project completion report.
