Health and social issues
The Embassy EU/Economic team works closely with the Polish government as well as with business organisations, trade unions, NGOs and academia on a number of social policy, labour market, migration and health issues.
Our role is to facilitate contacts between the UK and Polish ministers and officials. We help to build up relationships and ensure understanding of UK and Polish positions among key players on both sides. .
Areas of joint- working range from a project for the unemployed in the city of Rzeszow (the establishment of JobCentre Plus-like model office called ‘Centrum Plus’) to developing common positions on key European issues, for instance the Working Time Directive (WTD).
